ACCEPTING RESUMES FOR APPRENTICE LINEMAN
Caney Valley Electric is accepting resumes for an electric utility apprentice lineman position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist linemen in construction/maintenance of the electric system following NESC procedures
- Enroll & follow through on completing the lineman Merchant Training Course, or equivalent
- Participate in the "after-hours on-call" status rotation
* Be available 24/7 to work restoring power during extreme storm conditions
* Provide own lineman equipment including climbing belt, hooks and boots
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Must have or obtain a minimum Class B CDL drivers license
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical & drug/alcohol screening
- Must pass background check with no felony convictions
- Have physical abilities to climb high-line poles, handle and work with heavy line material, equipment and apparatus
- Have ability to read electric system maps
* Have ability to interpret line construction staking sheets
* Must reside within 30 minutes of the cooperative's office
* Must be able to perform work in close coordination and communication with fellow linemen. Being a "team player" is most essential due to the extreme hazardous environment in which work is performed.
Preferred
Actual experience in lineman work, including pole climbing.
